What type of system do you teach?
Our style is rooted in the Korean art of Choi Kwang Do. This is a system that combines the values of traditional martial arts with the most modern, scientific principles and effective techniques available.

Do you Background Check your Staff and Instructors?
Absolutely!!!!!!! Because we teach Children as young as 3 years old as well as Teenagers, our Instructors and Staff are required to undergo and maintain a Level 2 Background Check. This is the same type of Background Check required for State Educators and Law Enforcement Personnel.
What age groups do you offer classes for?
We offer classes for all age ranges starting at 3 years old. If you feel you are interested in Improved Health, Martial Arts and Self-Defense, do not let age be what holds you back. If you are interested, it’s never too late to start.

Do you offer Private Lessons?
Absolutely. We understand that group classes aren't for everyone and some students would prefer one-on-one Instruction. Contact us for more information.
How often should I attend classes?
It is our recommendation that Students attend AT LEAST two (2) classes per week. Attendance, along with constant and consistent practice, is crucial to Students absorbing and retaining their skills and knowledge.
What should I wear on my first day?
On your first day, wear clothes that you will be comfortable being active in. We will provide you with the extras you would need such as Protective Gear and Training Equipment if so required.
How safe is it to learn martial arts for me or my kids?
Incredibly Safe. We take pride in doing everything possible to maintain the well-being of our Students. Your Safety is our first and foremost concern.
How will training at Indian Rocks Choi Kwang Do benefit my child?
Martial arts has many benefits both physical and mental. On the physical side, martial arts will help to improve coordination, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. But equally, and perhaps even more important to us, is helping to create students who go out and have a positive influence in their community.
At Indian Rocks Choi Kwang Do, we strive to instill core values such as respect, discipline, hard work and humility into our students. All things that we believe will help them to succeed in life inside and outside of martial arts.
If a potential Student has a learning or physical disability or, has special needs, can they participate in martial arts?
We take all students on a case by case basis, however, we have extensive experience teaching students with a wide range of backgrounds and have had great success so far. This is due to our Instructors having hands-on experience and knowledge with those that have Special Needs and Considerations.
If someone is interested in Martial Arts Training and has special needs or considerations, we cordially invite them to contact us. We will be more than happy to sit down with them and discuss the benefits of our program and offer a FREE WEEK of complimentary training.
Will martial arts make my child more aggressive?
At Indian Rocks Choi Kwang Do, we strictly prohibit violence/aggressive behavior outside of the School. We enforce that the techniques that we teach are to be used solely for self-defense. We also believe in teaching our students how to control and manage their emotions. It is imperative to us that we are not simply teaching people to be more dangerous, but in fact, are teaching them to be more controlled and self-disciplined.
What if I have never tried martial arts or I’m out of shape?
We have classes available for all levels of skill and fitness. We believe that martial arts can benefit everybody and in order for that to be true, it needs to be accessible to everybody. If you have never done martial arts before, great! That is what we are here to help change.
If you feel you are out of shape, no problem, we are happy to help get you started on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. We will always be here to help give you a push in the right direction, but are always willing to modify exercises to the students current abilities.
I’d like to try a class, how do I get started?
The best thing to do is to come in a give it a try. No amount of words or videos can replace the feeling of really trying the class. We have a no commitment FREE WEEK where we will provide you with everything you will need to participate in the classes. After you have experienced the classes and met the instructors, you can then decide what your martial arts journey will look like from there.
